What We Believe

Here’s the basic Christian message which is at the core of our church’s beliefs, it’s a brief summary of the Gospel (“Good News”) which God offers to each of us:

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared, he saved us—not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy—through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. He poured out his Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior so that, having been justified by his grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life. This saying is trustworthy. I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed God might be careful to devote themselves to good works. These are good and profitable for everyone.” - Titus 3:3-8 (Christian Standard Bible)

If you have not yet received this good news for yourself, we encourage you to personally entrust yourself to Jesus as Savior even in this moment: Embracing his death on the cross as full payment for your sins, restoring you to a right relationship with God. You see, no good deed could possibly close the gap caused by our sin, but through his grace we can personally receive his gift of forgiveness and begin a new life in Jesus.  And here's where the news gets really good: Jesus defeated death when he came back to life! That's why he can offer you eternal life when you place your trust in him!

Here are a few simple steps you can take to begin your journey of faith in Jesus:

  • ADMIT that you desperately need a Savior from sin: that you've fallen short of God's perfection.

  • BELIEVE Jesus is who the Bible says he is - God in the flesh - the Son of the Father who died for you.

  • CONFESS that you are now placing your trust in Jesus to save your soul and transform your life: that you're surrendering your life to his care and control in light of your new relationship connected to Jesus.

THEN WHAT? We encourage you to get connected with a Scripture-centered, Jesus-worshiping local church so you can grow on your journey with him: This step is really important so you can continually draw closer to God. Crystal Lake would be thrilled to have you as part of our community!
